Students, company leaders and entrepreneurs joined the ASE community for the opening of the Finance and Management Workshop. All guests were warmly welcomed by the Dean of ASE, Fr. Claude DOMFANG, the Associate Dean of Academic Affairs, Clementine ASSEDE and the Director of Logistics. Participants have a busy and exciting program to look forward to; including lectures in Project Management and Financial Risk Analysis given by instructors from the University of Ottawa and Laval University respectively.

The first two sessions were “Entrepreneuriat: Innovation et Business Plan” and “Financial Risk Analysis” which took place at SOS Village d’enfants (SOS Children’s Village in English) in Abomey-Calavi. The lecturer for the Entrepreneurial course was Dr. Daniel DALOHOUN from the University of Abomey-Calavi. His presentation detailed the skills required for effective entrepreneurship. He also made the distinction between being simply rich by accumulating goods of higher value versus being an entrepreneur and creating wealth in society. The lecture on Financial Risk Analysis was given by Mr. Issouf Soumaré from Laval University in Canada. His presentation focused on decision-making when making investments and taking out loans. The session was very interactive, with audience members, including ASE professors, asking a number of questions.

The Finance and Management Workshop has been made possible through generous financial support from the Open Society Initiative for West Africa (OSIWA)
