On February 5, ASE welcomed Mr. Virgile Capo-Chichi, Director of Lead, to present his professional experiences as part of ASE’s Professional Development Seminar Series. Mr. Virgile got a Masters degree in Mathematics from University of Abomey-Calavi and a PhD in Statistics and an MSc in Medical Statistics from the Center for Population Studies at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (LSHTM). After explaining his academic background, he advised ASE students to do what they love and to be the best at it.

After his presentation, students asked several questions such as why did he come back to his country for work and why didn’t he work abroad, how did he hear about ASE or how did he support himself financially during his training and education. His final remarks were words of encouragement to the students, “if you find the job that you love just after your studies, you should take it without hesitating.”

Professional Development Seminars offer training that prepares students for life after-graduation.  The goal is to prepare students for the job market by learning about professional experiences of businessmen and policy makers and to help them develop professional networks. This Seminar Series are organised on a weekly basis and last about 90 minutes.
